Moira Cooper specialises in handmade jewellery, using chainmaille techniques in a variety of metals, especially ones that can be anodised like aluminium.
The medium offers an exceptional range of colours, both muted and vibrant and as it is such a lightweight metal it enables her to offer bolder designs that have enough weight to hang well but are not heavy to wear.
She is happy to make items to order.
Sylvia Tomkinson is a jeweller who likes using a contrast of texture or colour in her designs by, for example, adding gold or semi precious stones to a silver piece, or by oxidizing the background of a three dimensional item.
Influences come from many different areas as she likes to continually evolve and develop new styles and try different techniques. Titanium, which produces beautiful colours, is the feature of her latest range.
Bec Hopkins paints local landscapes in a bold and expressive style using acrylic and gold leaf with palette knives to achieve the desired texture.
She also makes paper cut collage illustrations and her outdoor swimmers collection are a bright and fun addition.
Colin Norgate has been working with wood for over 35 years, he is traditionally trained but his style has a contemporary twist. Colin makes small wooden pieces for the gallery including bowls, spurtles and light pulls but also makes bespoke pieces including ecclesiastical commissions.
Anita Bell makes hangings, framed and mounted pieces, books and vessels from a variety of papers that are hand-dyed or painted and embellished with stitch.
Anita is a Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and IAPMA and also offers workshops, talks, demonstrations and material supplies for textile arts and crafts.
Paula Chuter-Baker is a painter inspired by wide landscapes and open skies, particularly the point where the earth meets the sky. This has come from many years living within the South Downs, walking on the fells of Cumbria and on clifftops in Devon and Cornwall.
She is in awe of the wonderful natural world we live in and tries to capture the essence of this by painting what she feels rather than just what she sees.
Sarah MacLaughlin focuses her love of colour into painting ordinary wooden objects for around the home such as candle holders, tissue boxes, coasters and trinket boxes.
Sarah believes that colour really is the elixir to living well and this is reflected in her bold painted designs.
Karen Saunders makes bespoke one-off jewellery pieces in gold, platinum and silver, often set with precious stones. She also specialises in designing and remodelling unworn sentimental or inherited gold and silver jewellery, transforming those pieces into a new modern bespoke item that can be worn everyday.
Valerie McCallum is a textile artist.
She has always been drawn to fabric as it is such a tactile medium to work in. She uses recycled and pre-used fabric. Often surface dyes and paints are the foundation of her creations. The stitch in her work can be both functional and decorative. She is drawn to nature and old master artists for inspiration.
Suzie Little creates colourful fused glass pieces of art.
She loves working with the huge variety of colours available, and swings between creating very colourful objects to monochrome ones. She enjoys experimenting with chemicals and metals to create different patterns and colours between sheets of glass. Suzie also likes to use recycled/repurposed glass when she can.
Ellie Philpot is a painter who paints the everyday things around her, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary by using scale and colour layering. She is interested in the law of nature and how the qualities of light and shade create form. She strives to create a narrative in her work, particularly a playful one.
Jackie Lowe makes handcrafted bags and purses from preloved garments which are stylish, sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Heidi Robinson makes handmade fused glass creations.
Heidi loves the organic material of glass, the colours, textures and its own reflective qualities.
She likes to experiment by combining different techniques to open up new possibilities and is often inspired by natural forms found in nature.
Teresa Poole loves painting animals, mainly small mammals, on small wooden panels which are embellished with gold leaf.
Teresa also loves to capture the ocean in all its moods and colours, generally using oils combined with the richness of gold and copper leaf.
She has also been exploring the movement and pattern of the water through watercolour, painting on old music sheets and other vintage ephemera letting the titles and random words tell the story.
Min Maude is a mixed media painter of landscapes, both real and imaginary. She uses paint, colour and collage to create multi layered images in an abstracted style. She doesn’t have a fixed idea of what the finished painting will look like when starting a piece, so the painting grows organically. Removing and adding layers until she is happy with the image, often creates interesting and unexpected results.
Min creates large scale canvas paintings, but also has smaller sized framed paintings available in the gallery.
Elisa Dodd creates glass wall art, bowls and sculptures as well as smaller gift items.
Her inspiration is taken from her travels and keen passion for wildlife and the natural world. You can expect colourful, quality homeware collections and art pieces that will energize your style and bring a striking focus to your living spaces.
Mim McCann creates mixed media body sculptures, many are made in ceramic which are life-cast from the female form.
She also produces typography illustrations on paper, which echo themes and elements found in her sculptural work.

Marise Rose is a ceramicist who is particularly interested in organic shapes, texture and colour inspired by nature and landscape. She enjoys experimenting with techniques such as wax resist, scraffito, and painting with underglaze, slips and oxides to create unique pieces.
Her work is a mixture of slab built and thrown pots including functional items such as vases, jugs, lidded jars, platters and bowls.
Deborah Hochreutener is a multi disciplinary artist. Working with paint and metal.
Deborah’s sculptures depict British birds which are displayed alongside her colourful acrylic abstract paintings. Her paintings often gain inspiration from the coast and landscape which surrounds us here in Sussex.
Frans De Leij is well known for his watercolour images of birds and wild life.
A biologist at heart, it is not surprising that nature provides him with constant inspiration. He paints animals, people and landscapes where he is attracted by the way light, shade and atmospheric conditions unify the objects. He likes the feeling of space and tranquility that are found in the natural world and challenges himself to transfer those emotive qualities to paper.
Mark Maidment uses the Japanese technique of Gyotaku - the art of fish imprinting using rice paper and ink to produce his unique artwork.
He also makes his own frames using another Japanese technique called Shou Sugi Ban, whereby the wood is burned and then prepared to accentuate the woods natural grain.
Mark creates his works under the name of Crossbones Studio.
Katherine Lawrie creates precious metal jewellery using traditional techniques. She particularly loves textured metal and coloured cabochons and beads.
Katherine’s work is inspired by nature, British flora, fauna, wildlife and symbolism. As a member of the Society of Botanical Artists her work echoes the natural forms of plants and seeds.
Heather Muir is a ceramicist whose porcelain vessels are a balance of functionality and beauty.
Heather uses porcelain clay for its white, smooth texture, thrown as thinly as possible and then turned on an electric wheel. Simplicity of line and subtlety of matt and shiny glaze colours are her aim.
Heather’s vases, bowls and pod forms make beautiful gifts to use, or to enhance the user’s home.
The coastal landscape inspires the surface texture and colour in her work.
Marie Monro turns her works of art into unique lampshades.
Media includes ink painting on parchment, fabric, drawings and digital art. Inspiration is mainly taken from local coastlines and her poetry.
