We are a group of twenty-five local artists who jointly run the gallery. The annual exhibition aims to showcase local artists and makers from West Sussex and Hampshire. Some artists exhibit regularly and some might never have done so before, but we welcome everyone to take part and encourage all styles and mediums which meet this year’s theme.
Please read and familiarise yourself with our Terms and Conditions below before applying and
submitting your entry.
Theme: SOUVENIR: A reminder of a Place, Person, or Time
Work should be any interpretation or influence relating to the theme.
How to apply:
Boards measuring 20cm x 20cm x 5mm will be available to purchase from the Artisan Gallery from 19th January 2026. Each board will be numbered, and this will be recorded alongside your contact details when you purchase the board(s).
You can submit up to three boards which should express your interpretation of the theme, use the media of your choice, but not exceed the dimensions of the board.
Work:
Any 2D and 3D work mounted on the purchased board can be submitted for the exhibition and the Artisan Gallery will consider up to three items per person.

Cost:
Fees are non-refundable.
20cm x 20cm boards will be available to purchase from the gallery for £10 per board or £25 for three boards.
Size limits:
The finished artwork must not exceed the dimension of the purchased board.
Celebration of the Event:
Artisan Gallery will be hosting an all-day event on Saturday 7th March 2026 to celebrate the lovely works, so please encourage friends and family to attend and have a glass of fizz with us. We will open from 10am until 4pm.
People’s Choice Award:
The stewards in the gallery will be asking visitors to choose their favourite piece of work, and the result will be announced at the end of the exhibition. The winner will be contacted and will receive a £100 Artisan Gallery gift voucher.
Entry Requirements:
Applicants should be 18 years and over, living in West Sussex or Hampshire, and must complete the application form in the gallery when they purchase their board(s).
While submitting an exhibition entry does not guarantee acceptance, the Artisan Gallery will carefully review each application to ensure it fits the ‘Souvenir’ theme. Artisan Gallery encourages a range of styles, mediums & subject matter. Everyone may submit a maximum of three works.
Note: All artworks must be on the boards issued by Artisan Gallery with the relevant
entry number on the back or they will not be accepted.
Sales & commission:
All work must be for sale during the exhibition and will be retailed at £50 per board subject to a 10% gallery commission. A share of the gallery profits will be given to the charity ‘Together Our Community’ (TOG). This is a local charity which supports young adults to develop their independence through work experience.
For any sales, you will receive your payment as soon as possible after the exhibition has
finished. We will request your bank details at this point.
Delivery of artwork:
If, for any reason, you cannot deliver your work then, please liaise with the Artisan Gallery ahead of time to agree an alternative time. Artists are responsible for arranging the delivery of their artworks, whether they choose to deliver them in person or use a courier service.
NB: All artworks should have a numbered sticker on the reverse.
All packaging must be removed and taken away.
Collection of artwork:
The artist or their representative should collect all artwork between 4:00 and 5:00 pm on March 29th. Due to space at the gallery, we cannot store items overnight.
Please make sure that you bring packaging to wrap your work in.
Application Entries:
Ensure that the work you submit for the Artisan Gallery Open Call Exhibition is your own property. Any material submitted by you must not infringe any applicable laws or contain inappropriate content (such as indecent, offensive, defamatory or threatening material). Artisan Gallery reserves the right to extend the closing date for a reasonable period when an
insufficient number of entries has been received.
Artisan Gallery reserves the right to disqualify your entry if:
a. You are not eligible to apply for the Artisan Gallery Open Call Exhibition.
b. You do not meet the application criteria.
c. Your application is incomplete or you cannot be contacted.
Publicity:
The successful applicant’s work will be used for marketing, shown on the gallery website,
and social media, prior to the event with appropriate accreditation whenever possible.
Artisan Gallery also encourages you to promote the event yourself.
Copyright and use of materials:
Artists must agree to the use of their images in selected promotional materials (including
websites, social networks, and other media) unless agreed otherwise. Artisan Gallery reserves the right to use selected images and copies for promotional activities other than the leaflet and website, to promote the Open Call Exhibition.
Please make sure that any text, graphics, photos, or other media that you provide are owned by yourself.
Changes to the terms & conditions:
Artisan Gallery reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions. All changes will be posted on social media, and where appropriate, all artists will be notified by email.

Confidentiality and data protection:
Artisan Gallery is committed to Privacy and Data Protection. We collect personal contact information (including name, address, telephone number, and email address), which you provide on a voluntary basis. We will not share your personal information with third parties for any other purpose without your consent, unless required by law. Any personal information we collect will never be sold to any companies or individuals.
Contact details are used to follow up on any emails we receive from you and keep you posted on keys dates for the event. You can opt out any time after the exhibition by sending an email to info@artisangallerychichester.com
