Wendy Middleditch is inspired by nature, the weather, folk tales, and taking long walks up on The South Downs.
She enjoys collecting shells and mermaid’s purses along the beautiful beaches around Chichester.
Intricate patterns and small details within nature are elements which she loves to include in her work.
Her designs are all printed by hand in her garden studio.
She has an etching press and lino press, but her end-grain woodblocks are hand-burnished with an agate burnisher and Japanese bamboo baren.
She uses water-based and rubber etching inks and recycled paper and card whenever possible.
She makes lino prints, wood engravings, Japanese block prints, etchings, mezzotints and screenprints.
